Member States will ensure that a ‘second generation’ of points of single contact will function as fully fledged eGovernment centres beyond the requirements and areas covered by the Services Directive.

Can all the administrative processes be done through the Point of Single Contact? Yes The existing Irish Point of Single Contact portal provides information and access to online services by connecting users with the relevant competent authorities in order to complete all relevant procedures. The national portal,, also provides access to the relevant processes. As is the case in other countries, service users can access these services on a cross-border basis (if required) subject to relevant registration requirements being met.
Does the PSC facilitate cross-border provision of services? Yes The Irish Point of Single Contact provides general information for service providers looking to provide cross border services in Ireland. Additional general information is also provided on starting a business and relevant links to organisation/bodies websites which may be helpful for service providers providing cross border services.
